I’ve always loved to write–which is funny because English was one of my least favorite classes in school. (Math was my favorite!)
Like a lot of girls growing up, I kept a diary. (How I wish I still had it!) In my late teens/early 20′s, I began journaling some–mostly about my spiritual life. In 1985, when the Lord began to show me specific things concerning my music ministry, I wrote a lot concerning that. Then, once I got my first computer–a PC XT in Nov. 1986–I did even more writing from time to time–again, mostly about my faith (or lack thereof!) and my music ministry.
In mid to late 2000, while working on a recording project in my little home studio, I started bringing in various singers and musicians for studio session work. (I say work very loosely because I didn’t actually pay them; they would have received percentages of profits…if there had ever been any financial profits from my music CD’s. More about that later.) Because these were people who barely knew me, I decided to write My Story so they’d know just who (and what) they were hooking up with!
And that’s what I did. It’s also why I wrote mostly about my spiritual journey and my music. Habukkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision and make it plain…“. This was what I was attempting to do. Later, then, because I had already written so much about my life, I expanded My Story to include my journey to health.
By the time David finally showed up, in addition to all I had written in my BigChurch profile and my BigChurch blog, I had a full 64 pages of my life history to share with him as well. Like I said in An Audience of One, he had a lot of catching up to do!
Fast forward to 2010
While I don’t plan to include all of what I have written in those 64 pages, I do want to share at least the major stuff…and there has been a lot of major stuff the Lord has walked me through/done in my life over the course of 52+ years!
And there’s nothing I enjoy more than talking about it!
Jesus, be praised and revealed in all that I share here. May others be inspired in their faith and encouraged to earnestly and diligently seek You and Your Word and learn of You…just as You’ve taught me to do. Thank You…for this and so much more! Amen.
